Can dogs with allergies have fish treats?

Skipper's fish treats should be safe for dogs with allergies as long as your dog is not allergic to fish. Our fish treats can benefit dogs with allergies because the Omega 3 fatty acids in the fish treats can help reduce inflammation, itchiness and redness to your dog's skin. However, we highly recommend seeking advice from your veterinarian first.

Can fish upset a dog's stomach?

Fish is a high-quality, easily digestible protein, which is great for dogs with sensitive stomachs. However, if the fish treats are causing your dog to get an upset stomach, we recommend seeking advice from your veterinarian, as your dog may have an allergy to fish. If so, your veterinarian will diagnose this. Another reason can be due to a sudden diet change.

Is it OK to give my dog fish daily?

Yes, it is OK to feed fish treats to your dog daily but in moderation. Our feeding guides are on each product page and should be read to ensure you do not overfeed. If your dog has any health conditions, such as a kidney or liver issue, speak with your veterinarian for advice on how much and how often you can feed fish treats to your dog.

Which fish is best for dogs?

There is not a particular fish that is overall the best. The fish in our range can all be very beneficial for your dog's health.

What fish is toxic to dogs?

Fish such as Tuna, Tilapia and Mackeral can all be considered toxic to your dog if too much is fed, especially since these fish can contain high levels of mercury. We highly recommend feeding fish from highly reputable dog treat companies because the fish will be tested for toxins such as mercury.
